11 Questions for me

1] Who was your best teacher at school and why?

In elementary school, my 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Baker was the sweetest and most caring person I knew in a time I really needed one of those.

In middle school, my English teacher, Mrs. Graham, pulled me aside and told me she thought I was much smarter than I was letting on and moved me into AP classes where I did even better than I had been before. I had just switched schools twice and was starting to be content as a mediocre student. After that, I pushed harder and got back on the Honor Roll.

In college, David Shier, my teacher for A&P and Pathophysiology was just a brilliant teacher and somehow made otherwise-difficult subjects seem like second nature. He also was an author of Hole’s Anatomy, the textbook we used. I don’t know if he’s still teaching but I’d take any class I could with him! Brilliant man!

2] Which are your three favourite movies?

3? I’m going to have to do this quickly because I really have about 15-20… Amelie, Boondock Saints, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

Boondock Saints

(Also, Fight Club, The Big Lebowski, Juno, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, The Departed, The Incredibles… I’ll stop. So many great movies out there though!)

3] What is your best blog post to date? Please link.

I don’t know. I don’t have too many yet and haven’t even started posting fiction.

4] Of the 11 questions here, which is the worst for you and why?

Movies and teachers were pretty hard to narrow down, even as much as I did, I guess.

5] If you had to be one of these three cartoon characters which one would you be and why? Goofy, Pluto, Roger Rabbit?

Goofy

He seems like he has a pretty good time in life. (Img Quora)

6] Do you ever talk to yourself, and if so what do you say?

Always. I’m a constant narrator and commentator. I also disguise this as talking to my dog or inanimate objects.

7] Of these three sounds, which one describes you the best and why? Ping, Ting, Bong!

None for me exactly, but I know someone who used to be known as “Bong Man”, does that count? πŸ˜‰

8] Boots or sandals?

I like wearing boots but would rather be in a place that is more friendly for sandals.

Sunflowers

9] Which one of these dwarfs are you? Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Bashful, Sneezy, Dopey, Sleepy – but more importantly WHY?

I am all of these, just depends on the moment. I prefer the times when I’m Happy or Doc though.

11] What was the answer to question 10?

42

11 Questions (part II)

1] What’s the funniest thing that has ever happened to you?

I have a really wacky son, and several nieces and nephews. They are the funniest things that have ever happened to me.

A funny personal story though… last spring I started a medication that causes confusion and really set off the cognitive issues from my head injury.

I was looking at seeds for my garden and noticed cantaloupe seeds. I didn’t realize they could be grown here! I looked at the back of the package and checked the growing season (the timing was perfect) then I noticed the words

“not for human consumption – for planting purposes only”

at the bottom of the package. So, I checked another cantaloupe seed package. Same thing! So, I can plant this but not eat it? What are they, decorative? Who the f*ck wants decorative cantaloupes? I thought. This is crazy! I almost bought those!

I’m not sure how long it took me to realize all the seed packets said the same thing, because, well, you’re not supposed to eat the seeds.

Now, when my brain is scattered, my son and I joke that I’m a having a cantaloupe moment, or, for the sake of brevity, I’m a cantaloupe. (Also, I don’t take that medication anymore.)

While looking for the right image for this, I discovered I’m not the only one who’s been confused. That’s a relief.

2] Do you own a pet if so, what?

I have a staffy (pitbull) rescue named Piglet. I’ll tell you more about her someday when I post the pet tag.

Pretty Princess Piggles

(She loves blankets but hates pictures. I swear she doesn’t always look so unhappy!)

3] What is your favourite game – this can be old fashioned board games all the way up to current?

Scattergories and Bejeweled

4] Have you ever had to make a decision that you didn’t like? Discuss if you wish or simply answer Yes/No?

I don’t like making decisions sometimes. (See, I couldn’t even decide on y/n here!)

5] What animal would be cutest if scaled down to the size of a guinea pig?

An elephant

6] What movie can you watch over and over without ever getting tired of?

All of the ones listed above, plus Dirty Dancing, Cloud Atlas, LΓ©on: The Professional

Leon teaching Matilda how to properly care for weapons

7] Where are some unusual places you’ve been?

Psych ward and prison (visiting).

The inside of a cadaver lab was pretty intense, as well as The Body Alive Exhibit (its name has changed a few times but that’s what it was then), which I will let you Google at your own risk. I don’t want to accidentally disturb the hell out of someone. (It’s plasticized human bodies and body systems, if you’re unfamiliar. Don’t say I didn’t warn you – I’m sharing info, not inviting you along, unless you’d have gone anyway.) I’m a biology freak so it was amazing to me.

8] Do you think that aliens exist?

Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying. Arthur C. Clarke

They have to, right?

I want to believe

9] What mythical creature do you wish actually existed?

Mermaid. I’d like to be reincarnated as a mermaid.

10] Which of your teachers at school resembled the dragon or a dragon?

A certain teacher may have resembled Madame Mim from Sword and the Stone. That counts, right?

11] If magic was real, what spell would you try to learn first?

Healing. I’d be a bit selfish at first because having a head injury, spinal injuries, and fibromyalgia (those are just the big ones!) really keeps me from doing so many things. Then I’d help anyone and everyone I could.
